Welcome to my second post on Using Short Videos in your video marketing.  I hope you found my first post informative and have started thinking about how you can incorporate micro videos in your own business.

In today’s post, we are going to talk about how businesses use short or micro videos to deliver information that your viewers will be excited to watch.

Providing information in the form of short tips and techniques that can help your audience learn something new, get informed or solve a problem is a very effective method of branding. It also helps your viewers form a connection with you and your business.

It accommodates those people (myself included) who like to skim and don’t have the patience to read a lengthy article. You know the type, they just scan over the headline and maybe some of the bolded subheading to get an idea of what it’s all about and if they don’t see anything that grabs their attention they wonder off never to return.

In today’s fast-paced world, there is little doubt that people are busier than ever and as more information comes at us from everywhere, there is no doubt the attention spans of most of the population is declining.

The average person will skim, scroll of flip through information all while they are doing several other things at the same time. For instance, they will listen to a part of song then skip to another or watch part of a movie then change the channel all while they are texting or playing a game online.

Have you noticed that some people even talk in fragments just like a SMS?

Micro videos give these people something they can consume in bite-sized bits so why not take advantage of that by make short easy to digest videos and uploading them to YouTube, Vimeo or your own blog or website. This keeps almost every personality type happy.

Here is a quick example of what I mean:

I’m a fanatic Formula One Racing fan. I watch interviews, press conferences, listen to all the talk radio shows and never get bored. Even being such a big fan of the sport, there are time when I can’t watch a 30 to 60 minute show to find out what’s going on behind the scenes event though I may want too.

So what do I do? I hit the official Formula One YouTube channel, which offers all the news and latest information in short 3-5 minute videos. It’s informative, fast paced and provides you a rundown on the current events in the racing world in short little bursts.

Needless to say, it’s my favorite YouTube channel and I’m not the only one who thinks it’s great because it receives and average of 49,000 views from raving fans every week. Talk about exposure and revenue I can only how much money that channel generates from ad alone.

While that may be a bit of an extreme example just stop for a minute and imagine what that type of exposure could do for your business. Are you beginning to see the power of micro videos yet?

That is it for today’s post. In my next post, we will be talking more about the popularity of micro videos.
